But I did get 7 LOs done, a couple CT LOs for Feb & a couple of online challenges & couple for the retreat challenges & just for me-s!

we had to use the BG ppr lace, the red dots, the flag ppr & this really cute lil birdy was on the back of one of the BG pprs!! too cute!

& I do...'luv wasting time with my kids'.....don't do enough of it!

I luv how this turned out, I felt a bit like a bower bird building a nest! :)

We've had the most fabulous rainy/windy/ stormy weather the last few days so

we cancelled our beach fun afternoon/evening with friends......

& now with half an hour to go until we would've gone.....the weather is just about perfect for the beach!!! typical!!! oh well, another public holiday it will have to be!

So after shuffling photos for ...like EVER......

& changing patterned paper, like soooo many times.....

I finally decided to do this sketch from Sar's sketch chllge over at the Savvy forum

and here is what I did!

I don't really like this background paper, but fiddled, fiddled & fiddled......and was eventually VERY happy with the end result!

......well thats rather mind boggling!

seeing as I'm so not technically minded & feel that most blog posts don't make much sense [i get writers block!].....so I think thats worth some kinda celebration, don't you!?!

:D My resolve over the last couple of years has been to 'learn something new everyday', & I tell you what, most days I have! This 'blog' journey has been one of those!

art journal inspiration

well, I've been inspired this year to start an 'art journal'.

its a place where I can put all those things that just sit on my desk & never find a home like inspirational colour combos, magazine clippings, special cards or quotes I love or just ideas I have that don't really fit on a canvas or in a scrapping LO.

This one below is a great example.....i haven't written it on there yet, but it was some cute colour schemes from a bedroom on TV! ;D

this took all of 5 mins to slap some paint on....the longest part was waiting for the paint to dry!! [which i hate!!!!]

anyway I just thought i'd share how super dooper easy an art journal piece could be and how it can inspire something similiar, yet something totally different too!
so then with this colour scheme.......came this LO, same basic colours, some same elements [picture frame]......and see what I mean.....its TOTALLY different!!

this is soooo not me, but a real girly LO came out of my wanderings through my 'stash'!

I luv it tho!

We had a photo swap a while back on Chat with Charm.

Amanda did a LO with our youngest & I did this LO below of her gorgeous boy.
its actually quite intimidating doing this, but I think we've both rocked it BIG TIME and we're both happy with the end results!
LOL with this LO.....one COLD morning in July here in the tropics.........you're right, a bit of an oxymoron Amanda, but for the very few mornings of the year we can rug up, we do!

If you've never tried a photo swap, definitely have a go. It takes you wayyyy out of your comfort zone but is so rewarding!
