a huge coconut palm resting on our roof!!!! just missing our glass outdoor table!!

neighbours tree down in our backyard...

very blurry shot of our outdoor chairs {i was a bit shaken at the time and couldn't think straight enough to stop and take a decent shot!!!} the chairs were stacked, but in the big gust were

blown over, and you can only just see in the right corner, there were 2 chairs blown right across the yard, ending up underneath fallen palms...

the view as soon as we walked out the door the morning after....

this house is right opposite ours... helping out the neighbours....whose tree fell in our yard!

chopped the coconut so we could get out of our house!

DS2 ALWAYS loves getting in there with tools and getting dirty!!!

.....so thats a very short and not too detailed diary of our last few days.....

So really, most of our city has escaped with very little damage from this cyclone! There has been localised flooding and some houses near creeks have been flooded, and some houses have been without power for 24-48 hours, but we have been so blessed to have escaped with very little damage! We truely are under the shadow of Gods protective wings, and for that, I am truely grateful!

I know we are.....
lots to achieve
and accomplish this year
with DH studying,
me studying,
eldest DS into senior college,
midd DS into last year of middle school
and youngest DS in last year of primary!!!
WOW!!!

So here's my first accomplishment for
2011.....
my new SCRAPPING SPACE.....all mine!!!!!

Heres some shots of BEFORE
{well this is just recently before,
as before this,
I was in DS room! I moved out of his room
a few months ago,
and have been in limbo since....
so finally everythings been delieverd
{after MUCH deliberation and
mind changing about
colour schemes, measurements, prices,
availability, best position for the small space etc
you get my drift
.....many thx to my
DH for his patience whilst this was
all going on, and most of it, in my head :)}

....so, the BEFORE

then the big clean up
and bookshelves delivered.....

some stuff set up...

and my table arrived today.....WOO HOO!!!!!

so I'm sure theres still a lot of tweaking to do.......

but this is what I see from my kitchen bench....EVERYDAY!!!! :)

can you tell I'm a tad excited!!!

so now I can work in the kitchen and still have access to my desk

and keep the mojo flowing

instead of having to squirrel myself

off in the bedroom!

So, here my first BIG achievement

......a blog overhaul is on the list too!!! ;)

so proud...

of my middle DS!

As a lot of you know

he volunteers {his lil butt off}

at a local croc park!

He is soooo devoted I think

he would volunteer to sleep over

if they asked! ;)

Well the class I work in is studying

CROCODILES atm.....

so he is coming in to the class today

{all decked out in his 'uniform'}

to give a talk to a bunch of 6-8yr olds!

I think he's really nervous, but sooooo

excited!

He's even made a power point

to show them...he is soooo gorgeous!!!

I know he's going to do an amazing

job, and will enjoy being the teacher for a change. ;)

We are sooo proud of our young man!

* having a very sick boy for a week :(

* trying to get him well enough to perform in the BEAT choir

(he was - just!)

* farewelling friends, DS footy & family friends :( :(

* semi-finals of cricket (didn't get into the grand final, but that

was ok because.....)

* youth camp was on that weekend!

* school holidays

* putting aircon in our lounge & kitchen WOO HOO!!!!!!

that it was our {18th} wedding anniversary last week!

We actually celebrated our anniversary

by....

taking our DS's out for dinner! LOL

they had a ball and so did we.

So nice to spend time with them (tho as soon as

we'd finished eating, DS said

"ok, can we go now.....it's not

so, it's been a bit since I last blogged

...lots has happened...

such as DS1 getting hit in the forehead{!!!!!}

when he was the keeper for his cricket

game last week!! {and no he was NOT wearing a helmet}

his first words (through his tears)

were :

"I'M STILL NOT WEARING A HELMET" and

"YOU ARE NOT SCRAPPING THIS"

{WHAT!!! i hadn't said a word....LOL he knows

this one for a challenge over

* sketch challenge

* use rubons

* arrows (this was a 'stamp' from a plastic

icecube tray!)

and * a punch (lil boy punch - this was the first

ever punch I bought - 7 yrs ago.....and never used

...till now) :D :D

and this LO was for the challenge

over at Kraft it Up...

green/yellow/black on kraft.

(the boys luuuuve these snowcones...

but they are just plain

food colouring...so they probably only

get one, once a year!!!)

hi all!!

We had a fabulous last public holiday of the year!

We all went to the wave pool....

it was absolutely perfect weather,

very windy, which made the wet ppl

cold, but it was truely a divine time!

So nice to briefly catch up with friends there...

some ppl are just such a blessing,

they cause you to see the world

through their joyful eyes, and it opens

up such a fresh perspective.

Thanks for that my wonderful friend!! ;)

So nice to then veg for the rest

of the day...in amongst that vegging....I baked, washed, tidied and

I scrapped WOO HOO!!!!!!

{even tho this is for DS...therefore being a boy LO...I think it works well...very subdued

very serene...which he is so often NOT!!! }

WOW....what a bad blogger am I

Hey there.....it's been awhile, sorry!! Life has just gotten in the way, so here's just a brief update of whats been going on and the LO's I've done.
well....
my sis & her family left Aus {very sad for us, but so exciting for them}
DS had his long awaited nasal surgery {it's all good, great recovery!!! ;)}
then BIL passed away {I was so blessed to be able to go down with DH}
came home to a mid yr cricket carnival for DS1
then find out my job will be changing :( {but no stress as I know God has it all under control}
off to Christian educators conference {really enjoyed the 2 days}
then off to church Encounter {awesome!!}
then back to school {not really feeling like I'd had any break at all...}
but, as expected, {God is soooo good} job all good...and love working with the ppl I do
now trying to get some scrapping done at BONS July Cybercrop!!! woo hoo

I know this is super dooper late advertising...but it's still on, till Tues....so come and join in! Its such an inspiring place...always something amazing to be inspired by, and a great bunch of girls!

well, for something TOTALLY different for me

I've created this really FUN LO in

pink/blue & black colour combo!

Not a combo I use...infact this may be a

FIRST! (colours are not true to life

but you get the drift)

here, finally!!! I think we all thought we'd be going from one wet season to another, with no break in between!
Thankfully it's just beautiful here now, fans off
doonas on, windows closed in the mornings....
ok, so for all you southerners who think we're
insane, wearing jumpers when the temp hits 25......
it's the only chance we get OK!!!
so jumpers it is....for a week or two anyway!! LOL

Had a lovely family dinner last night to celebrate.....well EVERYTHING!!!

Our birthdays, m&d 40th wedding anniversary (like WOW.. how awesome is that!), DH semester is over and the fact that I love my family so very much!
