WW1 march

challenge requirements for WW1 this mth are:
white/bright pink & an artisan shape.

this was an interesting chllge as I don't
often do pink!!! ;)
I managed to find a picture of DS1 dancing
with his cousin at christmas!
too sweet!

the title is song lyrics that I can't get out of
my head lately.......
"so I... will dance... with Cinderella"
I think it suits it perfectly!!

in between study....

.....I've managed to do some scrapping...YAY!!!!!!

this one was a 'just coz' LO for DS3.....he had an epic LEGO battle
one day....11 yr old big boy style! ;)

total annihilation....blood & everything! ;)

This LO was for a sketch chllge set by the lovely Mal,

it needed stripes on the background, unusual placed journaling

& a big flower (I've folded mine into quarters, its been sooooo long

since I've used a flower)

life goes on.....

...yes it does!
so the clean up with Carlos has happened,
took 3 weeks mind you, to clean up all the tree rubbish in
our yard!! Yes there was that much stuff
and so little time!

Settling into some sort of routine at work...
finally...YAY! but now I've come
down with this stoopid flu! :(

well its the beginning of another month,
so you need to pop on over to this site for this mths chllge.

just a couple more...

shots!
after some hard work, helping neighbours get trees off their
driveways....
it was such a nice time first thing
in the morning, to have all the neighbours
out wandering and chatting, exchanging stories about their night.

...and of course, what else would you do with a fallen tree, but CONQUER IT!!!
Boys have had a ball climbing and exploring all the fallen trees in our yard

CYCLONE CARLOS came for a visit....

well here are just a few shots to show you all
what we've been up to the last 48 hours!!
Nothing really, after tidying up the yard on Tues night,
we've spent the last 2 days, pretty much housebound
by the wind and rain!
Thank goodness Carlos was not a big fella, we've even had
bigger electrical storms than him....he just ended up doing some damage
then choofing off....and hopefully he will disappear altogether!!
Most of the damage in the photos was done in about a 10-20second freak gust
of wind that came thru about 10pm on Tues night.
Hubby & I were sitting on the lounge, wondering if we should just go to bed
when we thought there was a chopper overhead as there was
this weird 'whoop whoop whoop' sound, then the air pressure
suddenly changed, and our ears popped from the change...after running
around and totally shutting half closed louvres, we looked out
and saw some of the damage. Incredible that it was so quick and so powerful!!!!
This was what we saw as we surveyed the neighbourhood first thing
the next morning!

...scenes from our local park, about 100m from our house...

there were about 25 trees like this......just totally flattened!!!

huge coconut palm leaning on our carport roof.......notice how close the table is!!

another coconut palm, knocked my pot over, but thankfully we don't think its damaged!

this is INCREDIBLE......thank goodness it fell on the road, didn't damage any property...right across the road from us!

blown over, and you can only just see in the right corner, there were 2 chairs blown right across the yard, ending up underneath fallen palms...

this house is right opposite ours... helping out the neighbours....whose tree fell in our yard!

chopped the coconut so we could get out of our house!

DS2 ALWAYS loves getting in there with tools and getting dirty!!!

.....so thats a very short and not too detailed diary of our last few days.....

So really, most of our city has escaped with very little damage from this cyclone! There has been localised flooding and some houses near creeks have been flooded, and some houses have been without power for 24-48 hours, but we have been so blessed to have escaped with very little damage! We truely are under the shadow of Gods protective wings, and for that, I am truely grateful!

WW1

so this is my WW1 LO for January!
Criteria this mth were:
* white
* royal/navy blue
* banners
I'm really happy with how this turned out!
{sorry for the dull photo.....very droll, but IRL

too sad!! Thankfully we took out the extended warranty

so it will be covered, just hoping

its not going to take forever.

Just shows me how hooked I am

Thankfully my DS1 has a new Mac, so he's very

graciously (not always) letting me take it over!!!

School and works back in..........YEAH!!!

Much to DS's delight (NOT!)

Its going to be a big year in our household,

so just getting myself mentally prepared for

it all!

I really hope you all had a fabulous break

I know we are.....
lots to achieve
and accomplish this year
with DH studying,
me studying,
eldest DS into senior college,
midd DS into last year of middle school
and youngest DS in last year of primary!!!
WOW!!!

So here's my first accomplishment for
2011.....
my new SCRAPPING SPACE.....all mine!!!!!

Heres some shots of BEFORE
{well this is just recently before,
as before this,
I was in DS room! I moved out of his room
a few months ago,
and have been in limbo since....
so finally everythings been delieverd
{after MUCH deliberation and
mind changing about
colour schemes, measurements, prices,
availability, best position for the small space etc
you get my drift
.....many thx to my
DH for his patience whilst this was
all going on, and most of it, in my head :)}

....so, the BEFORE

then the big clean up
and bookshelves delivered.....

some stuff set up...

and my table arrived today.....WOO HOO!!!!!

so I'm sure theres still a lot of tweaking to do.......

but this is what I see from my kitchen bench....EVERYDAY!!!! :)

can you tell I'm a tad excited!!!

so now I can work in the kitchen and still have access to my desk

and keep the mojo flowing

instead of having to squirrel myself

off in the bedroom!

So, here my first BIG achievement

......a blog overhaul is on the list too!!! ;)
